The type of the project is a "work in progress" with the following
objectives: (1) We envision achieving a "unique identity"; (2)
Develop musical coherence, maturity and homogenous, unified sound;
(3) Establish identity as truly Filipino orchestra; (4) In 5 years
time, 50 children will be able to perform in a classical concert;
(5) Develop young talents and hone them into becoming professional
musicians; (6) Establish a music school; (7) Provide exposure
seminars, workshop for our audience; (8) Provide scholarship
programs; (9) Acquire quality instruments and music scores; and,
(10) Promote and give the children the right opportunities to
perform and show their talents; and (10) Stable funding for the
Foundation for the continuance of its cause.
"From Streets to Concert Halls" is ongoing since January. There are
beginners and advanced classes every Saturday from 9AM-6PM. Classes
are held at the ground floor of the Founder’s residence. Currently
there are 3 violin teachers and 1 brass teacher. With the right
funding, the Foundation has high hope to reach out to more students
and to hopefully provide a better venue and add more teachers.
Culminating activity for these children is a year-end concert with
the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra. |
